Real Madrid will not pursue a deal for Kylian Mbappe after August 12, according to a report.
The transfer saga surrounding the Frenchman is still dragging on as we head into the final month of the summer window. Transfer listed by Paris Saint-Germain and exiled from Luis Enrique's first-team squad, Mbappe's future is hanging in the balance.
Though the French giants accepted Al-Hilal's world-record €300 million bid for the 24-year-old last week, Mbappe was not keen to negotiate with the Saudis despite the eye-watering money on offer. An impasse has therefore been reached.

Real Madrid, the club the attacker is expected to join next summer, have thus far refrained from making a move after being left with egg on their face last year when a transfer appeared to be on the cards only for Mbappe to make a shocking U-turn. Los Blancos would be ready to put money on the table for the player, but they are waiting for PSG to make a first move to facilitate the deal.
A double deadline
As we head into August, we are now approaching a double deadline. Tonight, July 31, the deadline given by Nasser Al-Khelaifi to Mbappe to make a final decision on his future passes. He is not expected to communicate anything - again.
PSG will therefore reiterate their stance that Mbappe is on the market and they may even initiate talks with Real Madrid. If negotiations were to start, they would need to proceed quickly.

That is because, according to ESPN, Los Blancos want to resolve the situation before the start of LaLiga on August 12. The arrival of Ousmane Dembele at PSG could also kickstart talks, but Real Madrid are under no obligation to force the issue: they know Mbappe will jump at the chance to join them for free next summer.
