Real Madrid want to sign Kylian Mbappe and a clubmate from PSG in a bid to have the France international superstar complete his move to the Bernabeu.

Although Mbappe has indicated that he wants to play for PSG for one more season, he is expected to leave the club next summer, at which point he will become a free agent.

The situation, though, is fluid. PSG do not want to see the superstar depart for nothing and a transfer this summer has not been ruled out for the 24-year-old, who has been given a deadline of 31 July to take up the option of a 12-month extension on his current contract. As such, there is not expected to be significant movement in this case until August.

Indeed, the Bernabeu club is not thought to be in a hurry, with Carlo Ancelotti reportedly toying with the prospect of playing Rodrygo and Vini Jr in attack as the club seeks a solution to fill the gap Karim Benzema’s departure has caused.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid are working behind the scenes to ensure that Mbappe, who is known to favour a move to the club he supported as a child, completes that dream. Los Blancos were stung a year ago, when the striker elected to sign a contract extension with PSG when the Spaniards had been hopeful he would move to LaLiga.

According to Defensa Central, one of the ways they are seeking to curry Mbappe’s favour is by signing up his brother Ethan to the club.

The 16-year-old is currently on the books of PSG and, like Kylian, has a contract that ends in June 2024.

According to DC, Ethan’s future is linked to that of his brother and he could be put on the transfer market if the elder Mbappe forces a move through.

Real Madrid, it is assured, would not sign the teenager, who is a central midfield player rather than a forward, for immediate first-team action. Instead, he would sign for the Castilla side and remain close to his brother.
