Real Madrid believe Mbappe will cost €400m
Real Madrid believe that Paris Saint-Germain will demand €400 million for Kylian Mbappe if they look to sell the France superstar this summer.
Mbappe, 24, has been continually linked with a move to the Spanish capital in recent years, and his recent comments about PSG have fuelled more rumours of an imminent transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The PSG forward recently sent a letter to the club’s president Nasser Al-Khelafi explaining that he will not extend his contract past 2024, when his current deal expires.

Al-Khelafi responded by publicly stating that Mbappe must sign an extension by 1 August or he will be sold this summer. Arsenal is the Frenchman’s preferred destination in the Premier League - and the Gunners are preparing an offer as exclusively reported by FootballTransfers - but Real Madrid remain Mbappe’s most likely destination.
However, Los Blancos do not believe they can afford Mbappe this summer. Having already splashed €100m on Jude Bellingham earlier this window, PSG’s asking price for Mbappe could be one step too far.
According to Marca, Real Madrid believe Mbappe would cost €400m if they were to pursue him this summer. This is unsurprisingly outside Real Madrid’s budget, but PSG president Al-Khelaifi knows Mbappe’s price will reduce as the window drags on.

Real Madrid are in need of a new central striker thanks to Karim Benzema’s transfer to Al-Ittihad, which could mean they go in for Mbappe before the window shuts in September.
What has Mbappe said about PSG?
Mbappe recently conducted an interview with France Football, which has caused controversy within the PSG squad.
In the interview, Mbappe spoke of his Ballon d’Or ambitions and admitted that playing for PSG in Ligue 1 “does not help” his chances of winning the coveted individual award. He also believes that his performances are unfairly criticised because it is more difficult to impress in Ligue 1.
Furthermore, Mbappe went on to add that PSG are a “divisive” club that have hit its “glass ceiling” in the Champions League. The Parisians are yet to win the illustrious European competition, despite Al-Khelafi’s huge level of investment over the past decade.
According to multiple reports in the French media, Mbappe’s comments have not gone down well within the PSG dressing room.
RMC Sport have reported that six players have reported Mbappe’s interview to Al-Khelaifi, with two of those being new summer signings. It's believed that two of Milan Škriniar, Manuel Ugarte and Marco Asensio have reportedly expressed their discontent with Mbappe already.
