Real Madrid star who can become world's best 'on verge' of new deal - Romano
Real Madrid are “on the verge” of extending the contract of midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.
Camavinga will receive a boost in his salary while he will be given a release clause that is set to make him unattainable in the transfer market to rival clubs who may target a bid.
It is unclear how long the new deal for the 20-year-old France international will be, but his present deal with Real Madrid expires in 2027.

Camavinga joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 from Rennes, with the midfielder signed for a bargain €31 million.
He has grown into becoming a vital player for Los Blancos, notably playing a clutch role from the bench as they claimed the 2022 Champions League title over Liverpool.
Romano says that Real Madrid are now set to reward the youngster with a new and improved deal.

Taking to X, former known as Twitter, Romano said: “Eduardo Camavinga, on the verge of extending his contract at Real Madrid.
“New deal will include higher salary and release clause to ‘protect’ the player.
“Camavinga loves Real Madrid, Real love Eduardo who is a key player for present and future. Matter of final details.”
Camavinga with world-best potential
Camavinga has the potential to become the best player in the world, according to SciSports, eclipsing the likes of clubmate Jude Bellingham and even Kylian Mbappe, who continues to be linked with a summer move to Los Blancos from PSG.
The France international is behind only Erling Haaland of Manchester City and Barcelona’s Gavi in terms of his ceiling, according to the data analytics experts.
The 10 players with the most potential (SciSports)
Club | SciSkill Potential | |
---|---|---|
Erling Haaland | Man City | 165.8 |
Gavi | Barcelona | 157.1 |
Eduardo Camavinga | Real Madrid | 149.9 |
Phil Foden | Man City | 148.7 |
Jude Bellingham | Real Madrid | 148.3 |
Gabriel Martinelli | Arsenal | 147.9 |
Bukayo Saka | Arsenal | 147.4 |
Jamal Musiala | Bayern | 146.8 |
Pedri | Barcelona | 145.0 |
Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal | 144.2 |
SciSports give Camavinga a current rating of 117.6 based on hundreds of in-game data points that analyse his skill. Though this is well behind Haaland’s world-leading mark of 143.1, the 20-year-old’s potential is calculated at 149.9, which could potentially take him clear of the Manchester City hitman.
Perhaps surprisingly, this figure is also greater than the top potential of Bellingham, who has sparkled for Real Madrid since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. The England international is forecast to reach 148.3 if he reaches his absolute peak.
