Revealed: Real Madrid preparing Mbappe offer, but there's a catch
Real Madrid are preparing an offer to present to Kylian Mbappe in 2024 as they look to sign the Paris Saint-Germain forward on a free transfer, according to new reports from Spain.
The France international is currently set to become a free agent next summer when his existing deal at the Parc des Princes expires.
Mbappe, 24, refused to sign a new contract during the most recent transfer window, which led to a short period away from the PSG first-team after being banished by Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
He has returned, however, and remains the key member of Luis Enrique’s side. However, PSG are still under threat of losing their talisman for nothing next summer, and Real Madrid are prepared to up the ante in January.
According to Spanish outlet Relevo, Real Madrid are preparing an offer that will be presented to Mbappe in early 2024. However, the Frenchman will have to act fast and sign a contract quickly, otherwise they are prepared to move on - that is the catch.
If he still has a dream of playing for the Spanish giants, then he must prove it by signing a deal quickly and ensuring the transfer saga does not drag on.
Mbappe to Real Madrid?
Mbappe had the chance to move to the Santiago Bernabeu on a free transfer in 2022, but after months of speculation, he rejected that in favour of signing a contract extension at PSG.
Los Blancos are wary of the same thing happening again and don’t want to be burned for a second time.
It is not known what offer Mbappe will receive from Real Madrid, but considering he will be a free agent, and therefore won’t cost a penny in regards to a transfer fee, it’s highly likely that a huge wage will be on the table.
Of course, the Spanish giants are able to begin negotiating with Mbappe from January 1 as he will have entered the final six months of his PSG contract.
Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the France star, although FootballTransfers understand that Mbappe remains fully dedicated to the ongoing season with PSG and there is no indication of any interest from Liverpool.
