Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario has bemoaned the length of Kylian Mbappe’s “soap opera” drama with Real Madrid.

The France international remains a Paris Saint-Germain player, but his contract at the Parc des Princes is due to expire this summer.

Real Madrid and Liverpool are considered his two most likely destinations, although the former are currently leading the race if reports are to be believed.

However, Ronaldo is not a fan of Mbappe’s will-he, won’t-he saga with Los Blancos.

“Madrid always has the best players in the world… it’s a philosophy that has been maintained for many years and it’s no surprise that they continue to want the best footballers,” he told RMC Sport.

“I don’t know if he’s [Mbappe] going to Real Madrid, but it’s true that he speaks almost perfect Spanish.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but it’s a soap opera that’s already becoming very long.”

Will Kylian Mbappe leave PSG?

Mbappe recently spoke to GQ about his transfer future and admitted: “Many great players who have shaped the history of football have left Europe this summer and we are entering a new era.

“It’s become part of the cycle of this sport and at some point it will be my turn to leave. I’m not worried about these changes. I’m simply thinking about continuing my career and following my own path.”

The prospect of playing under a new head coach is also one that Mbappe would relish.

“I think that beyond the technical aspects of becoming better with, say, your left foot or your head, what is most important is broadening your vision of the sport,” he admitted when asked about the beauty of playing under different managers.

“By playing for six or seven different coaches, I've learned six or seven different ways of doing my job. I developed different facets of my game and constantly grew. The right frame of mind requires being able to listen and adapt.”
