Romano reveals Mbappe's ASTRONOMICAL Real Madrid signing fee
Kylian Mbappe is set to bank in excess of €100 million as a signing fee from his move to Real Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano.
It's finally happening. The PSG star is on the verge of penning his Real Madrid contract, putting an end to a two-year saga of shocking twists and U-turns.
Mbappe has already informed the PSG hierarchy and his teammates that he will depart Paris in the summer and it seems that finalising his transfer to Madrid is only a formality at this point.
There had been rumours that Arsenal and Liverpool could make a late move for the Frenchman, but the Premier League giants never actually believed that they could land Mbappe. With Jurgen Klopp's announcement that he would be stepping down at the end of the season, the Reds' last faint hope of snapping up the 25-year-old faded.
Mbappe's switch to Los Blancos will be the biggest 'free' transfer in football history, but the attacker will be anything but a bargain.
Astronomical signing fee
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has now revealed what kind of exorbitant signing fee Real will have to pay Mbappe to secure his signature. "I had the possibility to check the situation for the signing fee of Kylian Mbappe," the Italian transfer expert said.
"According to sources close to the negotiation, the signing fee of Kylian Mbappe is going to be more than €100m. Some reports speak about €150m, from what I'm hearing it could be a bit less than this, but in excess of €100m."
"The signing fee will not be paid in one solution. Real Madrid will have the possibility to put the signing fee on the five years of the contract, so paying it in different parts as an extra compared to his salary which will be in the range of the other stars - Jude Bellingham, Vini Jr - but for sure, the signing fee will be huge."
