Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that Real Madrid don’t need to sign Kylian Mbappe as they already have the six best players in world football, but Rodrygo disagrees.

Los Blancos ran out 4-0 winners over La Liga title challengers Girona on Saturday in a statement of intent in Spain, and Ancelotti was impressed by his side’s performance.

Vinicius Junior ran riot on the night and the Brazilian is currently the best player on the planet, according to Ancelotti.

After Real Madrid’s resounding win, the former AC Milan, Chelsea and PSG boss was asked about Mbappe’s potential summer move from Paris Saint-Germain. However, he was quick to dismiss any transfer talk.

Kylian Mbappe to join Real Madrid?

“You keep asking about a player who plays for another team,” Ancelotti said during his post-match press conference. “We already have the best players in the world here. In order: Vini Jr first, [Jude] Bellingham second, Rodrygo third. Then [Toni] Kroos, [Federico] Valverde, [Eduardo] Camavinga.”

While Ancelotti was keen to squash any rumours of Mbappe joining on a free transfer when his PSG contract expires this season, Rodrygo was eager to express his desire for the Frenchman to join.

The Brazil international is seemingly the most likely current Real Madrid player to lose his spot in the starting XI if Mbappe arrives, but Rodrygo wants to see the PSG star join this summer regardless.

After the 4-0 win over Girona, he told reporters: “I would love Mbappe to come. I always want to play with the best players and he's one of the best in the world. I can't talk much about him. He's a PSG player and I have to respect him.”

Mbappe has scored 20 goals and provided four assists in 19 Ligue 1 games so far this season, and while the Frenchman is a direct threat to Rodrygo's place in Real Madrid's starting XI, the Brazilian evidently wants him to join the club.
