No guarantees over SECOND Mbappe Real Madrid deal

The future of Ethan Mbappe is not linked to that of his elder brother Kylian, according to reports, and there is no guarantee that the teenager will move to Real Madrid alongside him this summer.

Ethan, 17, is also out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of this season, with no breakthrough between parties as yet in terms of a new deal.

The elegant midfielder has made three first-team appearances for the club under manager Luis Enrique but has recently been absent from the matchday squads.

Kylian set to depart for Madrid

That has led to speculation that Ethan has been dropped following Kylian’s in-house announcement that he would be leaving.

It had been suggested that Mbappe junior could also move to the Madrid ranks once his brother completes his long-awaited free transfer later this year.

Kylian declined to exercise a clause in his contract last year that would have seen him remain with the French champions until 2025 and recently informed club bosses of his desire to let his contract lapse.

Real Madrid have laid the groundwork for Mbappe senior’s arrival on a blockbuster salary but so far no official announcement has been made regarding the deal.

Kylian joined PSG back in 2017 from Monaco, initially on loan, before a permanent fee was fixed for the following year for €180 million plus bonuses.

He has since become PSG’s all-time top goalscorer, winning five league titles along the way.

Madrid are ready to deny the player his dream of competing at an Olympic Games on home soil this summer.

Ethan could stay with PSG and sign new deal

Ethan joined the Parisians in the same summer 2017 transfer window from AS Bondy, the Mbappe boys’ hometown club, and was initially assigned to the club’s under-12 sector.

He has progressed through the PSG age ranks to take his place in the first team picture.

However, there are no guarantees over the player’s future with the player and his entourage still said to be retaining some hope that he will be offered more minutes and a fresh contract, according to a report in 90min.

Ethan is a left-footed central midfield player, rather than a fleet-footed forward like his elder brother.

Meanwhile, talks continue at the Parc des Princes over who might come in to replace their departing legend, with Bernardo Silva the latest player linked and Xavi Simons becoming a makeweight.
