Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid: The state of play - Fabrizio Romano
Fabrizio Romano has revealed the state of play with Alphonso Davies’ potential move to Real Madrid this summer, with Bayern Munich increasingly nervous about losing the star.
The Bundesliga champions have offered Davies a contract that runs until 2029 with a gross salary of €14 million per year, according to Sky Sports Deutschland, but he has yet to accept it.
Davies has little over a year left on his current deal. With no agreement in place, Real Madrid are seeking to take advantage of his fragile position and add him to their ranks for a reduced fee.

Romano reports that Madrid want to sign Davies this summer but are not prepared to pay over the odds for a player with one year left on his contract.
What did Romano say?
“The Alphonso Davies situation remains very clear for Real Madrid,” Romano said on CaughtOffside.
“They are waiting for Davies to answer to Bayern’s contract proposal, then Real Madrid’s position is firm that they won’t spend €60-70m on a player with one year left on his contract.

“Real will insist on a fair price for this summer or they could wait until summer 2025 when he would be a free agent, but Real would prefer to go for him now with a good price, rather than wait.”
The Blancos are looking for a new long-term left-back to have the same impact as former legends Marcelo and Roberto Carlos, and feel that Davies is their man.
Davies is still only 23, but he has already won five Bundesliga titles with Bayern and the Champions League in 2020 - his sitting down of Nelson Semedo in the quarter-finals of the latter a YouTube favourite ever since.
He has made 189 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals and winning 13 trophies in total.
