The Canada international is out of contract at the Allianz Arena in 2025 and he is expected to move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, with Los Blancos identifying him as their key left-back target.

Kylian Mbappe is also set to join Real Madrid, while Carlo Ancelotti’s side have named Lille wonderkid Leny Yoro as their preferred centre-back signing.

As things stand, the Spanish giants are yet to agree a deal with Bayern, leaving Davies in limbo with Thomas Tuchel’s team. However, French outlet L’Equipe have reported that Bayern are open to the idea of including Mendy in a swap deal with Davies.

The Real Madrid left-back is due to become an understudy if Davies arrives at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer and Bayern are eager to sign him to replace the outgoing Canadian. Mendy has been linked with a Los Blancos exit, with his contract set to expire in just over one year’s time, and the German side are interested in acquiring him this summer.

The former Lyon star has made 32 appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring once.

“The Alphonso Davies situation remains very clear for Real Madrid,” Fabrizio Romano recently told CaughtOffside.

“They are waiting for Davies to answer to Bayern’s contract proposal, then Real Madrid’s position is firm that they won’t spend €60-70m on a player with one year left on his contract.

“Real will insist on a fair price for this summer or they could wait until summer 2025 when he would be a free agent, but Real would prefer to go for him now with a good price, rather than wait.”
