Florian Wirtz: €100m Real Madrid deal on as father CONFIRMS Leverkusen star’s future
Real Madrid’s plan to sign Florian Wirtz has their next Galactico addition remains possible after the father of the Bayer Leverkusen star revealed the playmaker’s future.
Transfer speculation has swirled around Wirtz following a brilliant season with Xabi Alonso’s side.
The 21-year-old was a leading protagonist by scoring 18 and creating 19 more across all competitions as Leverkusen swept to a domestic double and suffered only defeat to Atalanta in the final of the Europa League in a quite remarkable campaign.

He continued his electric domestic form by opening the scoring at Euro 2024 as Germany swept to a 5-1 win over Scotland in Munich last Friday.
Playing at such a level has led to Real Madrid rekindling their interest in a player they had followed before he suffered a serious knee injury at the end of the 2021/22 season.
Los Blancos are seeking to make him their next superstar addition after Kylian Mbappe was signed from PSG as a free agent.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side, though, are not seeking to complete a deal for Wirtz until next summer, and the player’s father has opened the door to such a possibility.
Confirming Florian’s plans to Bild (via GGFN), Hans Wirtz said: “Florian has a contract in Leverkusen. And he’s looking forward to next year at Bayer 04, when he can play in the Champions League with Leverkusen for the first time. Those are the facts. Now the focus is on the Euros.”
The possibility of Real Madrid making a swoop in 12 months remains one that the player’s father is not discounting, though he did admit that Leverkusen will also have their say.
“After that there’s a lot to do with the club next season, so there’s no need for speculation. There’s really nothing to say beyond that,” he confessed.
Wirtz timing ideal for Los Blancos
Such a deal would fit in with Real Madrid’s policy of making one superstar signing per summer.
Last year, the Bernabeu side paid €103 million to add Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, while Mbappe will receive a massive signing bonus as he joins from PSG.
Wirtz is expected to cost upwards of €100m, with some estimates putting him as high as €150m.
His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €70m as he bounced back from his long-term injury problem.
