There might be another TWIST in Joao Felix's Barcelona future
It’s not been an easy time for Joao Felix at Barcelona. Under Xavi last season he struggled for game time towards the end of the campaign after a series of disappointing performances.
The Portuguese attacker is still yet to fulfil his full potential at the Nou Camp and with Hansi Flick coming in as the club’s new manager many have cast doubts over his future.
Felix’s loan spell at Barcelona is set to expire at the end of the month. Atletico Madrid are still keen to offload the attacker and it seems like Flock could opt to keep him at Barcelona this summer.

According to Sport, Felix remains in Flick’s plans with the German manager keen to incorporate him as one of the key components of his new look Barcelona attack.
That means a deal will have to be struck with Atletico Madrid, which will not be easy. Atletico Madrid are keen to procure a permanent deal for Felix. However, Barcelona’s financial difficulties means they are not in a hurry to do a permanent deal.
The club has indicated they would be open to another loan transfer for Felix but it’s understood Atletico Madrid are not keen on that prospect.
Felix is currently competing at Euro 2024 with Portugal, where it was hoped that he would revive his form and impress in front of the millions of people watching the tournament.

However, instead he has made just one appearance so far and has become a fringe player in Roberto Martinez’s Portuguese side. Felix’s only appearance so far came in a 2-0 defeat to Georgia.
There is a way for Barcelona to bring him in on loan with a buy-out clause according to Sport. However, that is depended on how Felix’s tournament progresses and whether Atletico Madrid will feel like they could get a better deal for their player.
