While it has been widely expected and reported that PSG, despite losing him for nothing, would save up to €200m in annual expenses from Mbappe's exit, it seems that even the Ligue 1 champions may yet have to shell out a pretty penny.

That is because PSG stand accused of not paying Mbappe's wages for the final two months of his contract.

Mbappe demands €100m

As first reported by L'Equipe and since confirmed by The Athletic, PSG have refused to pay the Frenchman's salary for May and June 2024, with Mbappe still officially under contract in Paris until the 30th of this month.

Mbappe previously talked about his exit agreement as ensuring that "all parties [are] protected," but it seems that his divorce from PSG has been anything but amicable.

It is asserted that PSG feel as though Mbappe will be unable to keep up his end of the bargain to "economically protect" the club and, as a result, the capital club have decided to withhold his wages and bonus fees.

Mbappe's lawyers have put PSG on notice regarding outstanding payments amounting to as much as €100m, but his camp has thus far refused to comment on the matter. PSG, meanwhile, assert that they will try to find common ground with the 25-year-old.
