Real Madrid struggling to find buyer for flop who is 'in purgatory'
Real Madrid are struggling to find a buyer for forgotten attacker Reinier, according to Spanish media.
The 22-year-old arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu as a veritable wonderkid in the mould of Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo. However, four years on from his €30 million transfer from Flamengo, Reinier is 'in purgatory,' according to AS.
While many of Real Madrid's stars have returned to first-team training in recent days, Reinier was nowhere to be found. This is because the Brazilian has been brutally demoted and will train with Castilla, the club's reserve side going forward.

The attacking midfielder is no longer considered a Los Blancos senior player despite his €30m price tag and, honestly, it is not hard to see why. Reinier has yet to actually make a senior appearance for Real Madrid, having spent most of his time at the club out on loan.
Reinier has a shortage of suitors
After a dreadful stint at Borussia Dortmund and a more promising time at Girona, Reinier joined Serie A side Frosinone last summer and got off to a decent start. However, an injury derailed his progress and he eventually lost his place in the side.
Off the back of this, Real Madrid face the problem that nobody is willing to take the 22-year-old off their hands permanently, an issue they already had last year.

Los Blancos would be keen to recoup their original €30m outlay or at least a decent chunk of that sum, but as things stand, this is wishful thinking. Real Madrid have been forced to look for another loan for the erstwhile wonderkid.
For the time being, Reinier will try to keep fit with the reserves. His Real Madrid career is over and the more time passes, the less likely it is Los Blancos will receive any substantial money for the Brazilian.
