Real Madrid hatch clever plan for FINAL Alphonso Davies transfer assault
Real Madrid will make one last attempt to sign Alphonso Davies this summer, according to Spanish media.
Talk surrounding the Canadian's future has gone quiet in recent weeks. Real Madrid have secured the crown jewel of their summer business in Kylian Mbappe and have been relatively quiet since then despite missing out on top defensive target Leny Yoro to Man Utd.
Los Blancos have backed off signing Davies in recent weeks, likely due to news filtering out of Germany that Bayern Munich were now prepared to take the risk of keeping him around despite his expiring contract.

Davies will be a free agent next summer and Bayern had initially wanted to sell him as he has repeatedly shown himself unwilling to pen fresh terms. However, following the appointment of Vincent Kompany, there was something of a rapprochement between club and player.
Since then, not much has developed on the Davies front other than honorary Bayern president Uli Hoeneß doing the club no favours by publically announcing that the Bavarians would not yield to the left-back's demands.
Real Madrid plot attempt
Due to the news of Bayern potentially keeping Davies, Real Madrid have been said to be confident of securing him on a free transfer next year, with the player keen on the move.
But now fresh news is coming out of Germany and Spain. According to journalist Maximilian Koch, Bayern have not ruled out selling Davies this summer. He claims that they will make him one final take-it-or-leave-it contract offer and if he still won't accept, they will look to move him on this month.

Relevo in Spain, meanwhile, asserts that Real Madrid could make a last push for the 23-year-old right at the end of August to give Bayern a decision to make. Los Blancos are confident that, faced with the choice of securing a fee or losing him for free, Bayern will pick the former, potentially allowing Real Madrid to lowball their counterparts.
These two reports coming out on the same day do not appear to be mutually exclusive. Should Davies reject Bayern's new offer, they will make him available, with Real Madrid ready to pounce. Los Blancos, it seems, could yet make another signing despite Carlo Ancelotti's assertion that the squad for the new season is set in stone.
