Fabrizio Romano has squashed the idea that Robert Lewandowski is a problematic presence in the Barcelona dressing room.

As per Bar Canaletes, former Barca man Ilkay Gundogan was annoyed that his former Borussia Dortmund teammate neglected the younger members of the side and only focused on himself.

This translated on the pitch, too, with Lewandowski thought to be more concerned with his own performances rather than the whole side.

But Romano has said that such reports are false and that the Poland international is "super popular" among the squad and liked by every individual at the club.

He said via his CaughtOffside column: "Sticking with Barcelona, I’ve zero information on the rumours in Spanish media that Robert Lewandowski is a disruptive presence in the dressing room.

"To be honest, I don’t know where this is coming from but it’s absolutely fake news.

Did Lewandowski blank Yamal?

Though this may be true, some of the initial report has credence. Last year, Lewandowski appeared to deliberately Barcelona team-mate Lamine Yamal during a 2-1 La Liga win against Alaves.

The teenage winger cut inside and made a shot rather than make the cut-back to the unmarked striker. After the ball went out of play, Yamal went to give Lewandowski a high-five, but the veteran completely blanked him.

After the match, he denied the claims he snubbed Yamal: "Ignoring Lamine Yamal? There is nothing to comment on, it was a total accident."
