Real Madrid to change position of €100m star?
Real Madrid have been tipped to change the position of Florian Wirtz should they sign him from Bayer Leverkusen next summer.
Wirtz has been a standout performer for Xabi Alonso’s side and he is reported to have become Los Blancos’ leading transfer target for next summer.
The 21-year-old has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €83.7 million but it would likely take a bid of €100m plus to take the playmaker away from Leverkusen, where he is under contract until June 2027.

There have also been suggestions that Manchester City will be in the race for Wirtz, particularly with Kevin De Bruyne heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
With Jude Bellingham already at Real Madrid, a switch to Pep Guardiola’s side may seem like a smarter switch, yet former England international Owen Hargreaves believes the player could operate in a different role at the Bernabeu.

Kroos replacement at the Bernabeu
Hargreaves was asked on TNT Sports where he sees Wirtz playing after the youngster shone in Leverkusen’s comfortable victory over Feyenoord.
Before he could answer, Steve McManaman said: “He won’t go to Madrid because they already have that type of player, there’s no room for him.”
Hargreaves had an answer for the former Real Madrid winger, though.
“You think about Toni Kroos leaving Real Madrid, I think he could go in and learn at role. Toni started as a 10 and gradually worked back,” he said.
“I think Florian can eventually go in and control the game. I see him at City or Real.
“I’m sure Mikel Arteta would have him at Arsenal, too. He’s that good, he can make every team better. He is a 10 but he’s that smart.
“I think everyone wants him. And I think he’s so smart he’ll say: ‘I’m going to go there because that’s the best fit for me.’”
