Real Madrid CONFIRM severity of Rodrygo injury: How long is he out for and what games will he miss?
Real Madrid suffered a double blow in their 5-2 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday as Rodrygo Goes and Thibaut Courtois both suffered injury issues.
While the club gave a rapid diagnosis of the Belgian’s problem, Los Blancos had to wait to give Rodrygo a scan due to the nature of the muscular injury that he has suffered.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have now revealed both the exact problem the 23-year-old is suffering from.
On a statement published by the club’s official website, it is said: “Following the tests carried out today on our player Rodrygo Goes by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the right femoral biceps. Pending evolution.”
Although the club has not given a date when the player is expected to return to action, the belief is that this type of injury will prevent him from playing for the next three to four weeks, with his likely return to come after the November international break.
Real Madrid did not expect to have Rodrygo available for El Clasico on Saturday, and that will naturally be the case following this injury diagnosis.
He will also sit out of the following fixture in La Liga against Valencia and a home clash with Osasuna. In between these games there is also a Champions League encounter with AC Milan that will need to be negotiated.
All going well, Rodrygo should be back in action by the time Real Madrid face Leganes following the international break, which comes immediately before a massive European Cup clash with Liverpool.
