The England international has less than 12 months remaining on his current Liverpool contract and he will become a free agent in 2025 unless he decides to sign a new deal with the Anfield outfit.

Alexander-Arnold has emerged as a priority target for Real Madrid following news of Dani Caravjal’s ACL injury and Los Blancos are ready to sign the 26-year-old as they look to bolster their backline next year.

Reports from Spain indicate that Liverpool are beginning to accept that Alexander-Arnold won’t sign a contract extension at the club, with Real Madrid now in pole position to sign him.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also interested in the England defender, as per talkSPORT, although a move to the Santiago Bernabeu is considered to be his most likely next step.

Furthermore, GiveMeSport have revealed that Alexander-Arnold has spoken to Bellingham about life in Madrid as he considers a move to the Spanish capital in 2025.

The pair are close friends and Bellingham has reportedly detailed the seamless transition he enjoyed upon joining Los Blancos from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

Bellingham tallied 36 goal contributions in all competitions during his debut season at Real Madrid and he has been nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or after a sublime start to life in Spain.

Real Madrid’s alternative right-back targets

In addition to Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid are also monitoring the progress of Tottenham Hotspur stalwart Pedro Porro, Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong and Chelsea wonderkid Josh Acheampong.

A move for the latter may be possible during the January window, according to The Independent, although Chelsea are reluctant to lose the 18-year-old, despite the presence of Malo Gusto and club captain Reece James.
