Barcelona 'optimistic' over Olmo registration after latest TWIST
Barcelona have received the necessary approval for the sale of their Camp Nou VIP seats, which the club hope will now allow them to register Dani Olmo.
The marquee summer signing is still waiting to become eligible to play for the Blaugrana again after his temporary registration expired on December 31.
Barcelona had hoped that the sale of their VIP seats at the new Camp Nou to investors from Qatar and Dubai would solve the issue, but complications prevented the club from attaining the requisite green light from LaLiga.

This meant that Olmo was unregistered by the league and lost his playing license for the campaign, with players only allowed to have one such license per season.
Due to a clause in his contract, Olmo could have opted to terminate his deal and sign for a new club, which would have had dire financial consequences for Barcelona. However, he chose not to and has now received some good news.
Barcelona expect to register Olmo
Sport now reports that Barcelona's sale of their VIP seats has been officially approved, which means that they now have the funds at their disposal to register Olmo.
The Spanish outlet claims that there is now 'optimism' in the Catalan offices that football's governing bodies in Spain will make an exception for the club, who have pleaded 'force majeure,' and permit the registration of Olmo (and young striker Pau Victor).

After getting rejected by LaLiga on December 31, Barcelona appealed to the Spanish federation for a new license, but the latter are not in a position to hand out licenses or register players without the approval of the league or unless exceptional circumstances permit.
Barcelona are now working to convince the federation and LaLiga that the delay regarding the VIP seats deal was beyond their control and hope to be able to provide positive news regarding Olmo's registration before Hansi Flick's pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.
