Dani Olmo decision puts LaLiga ‘WAR FOOTING’ as Real Madrid stance revealed
Barcelona face a revolt from half of LaLiga’s clubs over the ongoing Dani Olmo controversy.
Olmo and Pau Victor have been blocked from being registered by the Catalan club for the second half of the season due to their failure to meet with Financial Fair Play (FFP) requirements by the end of December.
As things stand, the Spain international is free to depart the Catalan side immediately in a move that could blow a €168m hole in their budget.

But Cadena SER has reported that Spain’s sporting court (CSD) has suspended the deregistration of Olmo and Victor, making them eligible to play until a final decision has been made.
Although no official measure has been announced, Relevo reports that the news has spread like wildfire among LaLiga clubs, with several poised to make a protest.
Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club and Villarreal are all poised to mount a protest against the decision, with the Spanish report indicating that the decision as put “half of LaLiga on a war footing”.
One unnamed source claimed that “it’s going to be a disgrace” while another warned of “tremendous consequences” if a judge doesn’t agree with them.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have maintained a public stance of neutrality, not offering comment on the ongoing situation, which threatens to tremors through LaLiga.
Barcelona institutional vice-president Elena Fort has defended the club over the issue, stating to the media: “There has been no negligence on the part of the club. We have had plan A and plan B and C. If they are not registered today it is not because of poor management, quite the opposite.”
Premier League interest on ice?
Any decision regarding Olmo will also have an impact on the transfer market of many other clubs.
Premier League teams have been eyeing up a potential bargain in the form of the Spain international. Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City have all been linked with a potential move for him in January if Barcelona’s situation is resolved definitively against the Camp Nou side.
Relevo reports that “in the quickest of cases” the CSD could wrap up in five days.
Meanwhile, Dani Olmo has not passed comment on the situation save from via Andy Barra, who indicated that the player intends to stay with Barcelona.
