Taylor Swift close to Barcelona deal, set to appear at El Clasico

Pop icon Taylor Swift is close to signing a deal with Barcelona, but of course the 35-year-old will not personally be turning out in the colours of the Blaugrana.
Instead, Swift is set to beat the likes of Ed Sheeran and Travis Scott to appear on Barcelona’s jerseys during El Clasico, which is earmarked for the weekend of 11 May.
With Barca and Real Madrid currently locked together at the top of LaLiga, albeit the Catalans have played one game fewer than their great rivals, the American is set to win the race to be the club’s jersey sponsor for what promises to be one of the biggest games in years.
RAC1 reports: “Taylor Swift is the top choice to be the artist on the Barcelona shirt during the May Clasico.
“The agreement is pending only the final touches.
“There have been several names on the table, such as Ed Sheeran and rapper Travis Scott.”

What artists have appeared on Barcelona’s jerseys before?
Taylor Swift is set to become the latest big name from the music industry to appear on Barcelona’s shirts as part of their agreement with streaming service Spotify.
A €280 million sponsorship agreement with the company was struck in 2022, which covers the main shirt logo but also the naming rights to Camp Nou.
The Rolling Stones and Drake both previously made an appearance as Barca’s jersey sponsors while earlier this season it was Coldplay who were on their shirts as they routed Los Blancos 4-0 at the Bernabeu.
A run of 1,899 limited edition Coldplay-themed jerseys was available, with the proceeds from the shirt sales going towards the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
Now Barcelona hope to achieve the backing of the biggest artist in the world, Taylor Swift, to bring them luck in what promises to be a huge Clasico encounter against Real Madrid in May.
