When is the Champions League last-16 draw? Date, teams, format and how to watch

The group stage of the 2021/22 Champions League is over and now the attention turns to the last-16 draw on Monday morning.

In total, 16 sides will be in the hat for the first knockout stage, and thereafter we'll have the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final, which will take place at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg.

When is the Champions League knockout draw?

The draw for the last 16 takes place at 11am GMT on Monday, December 13.

How does the last-16 draw work?

Sixteen teams will be placed into two separate pots depending on where they finished in the group stage.

The teams who finished top of their respective groups are seeded for the knockout stage, where they will face an unseeded team who finished second in their respective groups.

The seeded sides will face unseeded sides over two legs home and away.

How and where can I watch Champions League last-16 draw?

In the United Kingdom, the Champions League draw will be broadcast on BT Sport and will also be streamed from Uefa's official website.

In the United States, the draw will be broadcast on CBS Sports.

When are the Champions League last-16 matches?

The first legs will take place on February 15, 16, 22 and 23. The second legs are scheduled for March 8, 9, 15, and 16.
