Kylian Mbappe will be the major talking point when Paris Saint-Germain visit Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Not only has Mbappe apparently completed a recovery from a foot injury that might have seen him miss this match, his name has regularly been linked to the Bernabeu side in the world of football transfer news.

The World Cup winner is out of contract with PSG in the summer, and while the Ligue 1 side are fighting to tie him down on a new deal, a transfer to Real Madrid still looks probable.

Mbappe impressed by the Bernabeu

Mbappe’s capacity to excite fans in Spain shows no bounds, though, as an Instagram post from the France star highlighted.

After training at the Bernabeu for the first time, Mbappe posted two images of himself looking up at the stands in apparent wonder. It will, after all, be the first time this self-confessed Real Madrid supporter will have played at the ground.

He gave little comment to the piece, simply adding a Spanish flag and tagging Champions League, yet the post has gone viral, with many fans taking his images as a sign that he will complete a permanent move to the club.

Certainly, there is little doubt that Mbappe will one day play for Real Madrid in order to accomplish a childhood dream of his. He has long wanted to pull on their white jersey to follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is his childhood hero.

As yet, though, there is no guarantee he will do so imminently. Although reports in the Spanish press suggest that a deal will be done, the local French press states that PSG are readying a massive contract offer for him that is designed to keep him at the club for at least one more year.

Mbappe’s late goal in Paris means that PSG have the edge approaching Wednesday’s return match against Madrid.
