Raheem Sterling to Chelsea: Why €56m for ex-Man City forward is a bargain
Chelsea have completed a move for Manchester City star Raheem Sterling - the Blues' first signing of the transfer window.
American businessman Todd Boehly recently completed the takeover of the west London club, with Roman Abramovich parting ways after 19 successful years in charge.
And now, Boehly has landed manager Thomas Tuchel one of England's finest players in his debut transfer window.
The American is determined to back the German, who has already guided The Blues to Champions League success, in hopes of contending for the Premier League title next campaign.
And, the €56 million acquisition of Sterling is an excellent start to the summer.
Sterling to Chelsea
Raheem Sterling registered 13 goals and six assists in the Premier League this season, helping City to a fourth title in five years.
In fact, he has reached double figures for goals in each of the last five seasons, scoring 78 times in total.
The Blues did score 76 goals in this season's Premier League, which is no mean feat, but in order to catch City's tally of 99, they are going to need a more dependable finisher.

Now, the odd thing about Sterling's game is that he actually misses a lot of chances - plenty of simple ones too.
But, the forward's ability to get himself into goalscoring positions is as good as anyone in the league. This is exactly what Chelsea are lacking.
The likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz look good when getting involved in the play, but need someone to finish off the chances that they create.
The £100m summer signing of last year, Romelu Lukaku, was supposed to be the answer, but that has proven not to be the case.
But, as the next man to be signed as Chelsea's answer to their goalscoring conundrum, Tuchel's side couldn't have done much better than Sterling.
Indeed, for a Premier League-proven 27-year-old Englishman, €56m is a bargain, especially when you consider Raphinha has headed to Barcelona for around €15m more.
Raheem Sterling now has the chance to prove himself at a third Premier League club in what is becoming a tremendous career.
