Chelsea's first transfer window under new ownership, fronted by American billionaire Todd Boehly, is going to be an expensive one.

The Blues are already close to completing deals for Raphinha and Raheem Sterling, which will cost in the region of €100 million.

And, there could yet be more attacking signings in the form of Ousmane Dembele or Neymar, albeit unlikely.

There will be at least two defensive signings, too, as the west London club make up for the losses of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

As it stands, Thomas Tuchel has Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah, Malang Sarr, Cesar Azpilicueta and Levi Colwill to choose from in the centre of defence.

The Blues will struggle to finish in the top four places in the Premier League if this area isn't strengthened significantly.

Chelsea want more than Raphinha & Sterling

Matthijs de Ligt, Kalidou Koulibaly and Jules Kounde have all been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, among several others, which could set Boehly back a fortune.

The transfer fees do vary greatly across the Blues' centre-back targets, but a fair guide is that each will cost around €50m - even with the inclusion of players such as Timo Werner in the case of De Ligt.

And, as previously stated, at least two additions to the backline need to be made, which will take Chelsea's summer spending up to €200m.

Tuchel will have ambitions beyond that, too, with West Ham midfielder Declan Rice reportedly one of Chelsea's top transfer targets.

He would cost around €100m, though, which could see the club opt for a cheaper alternative such as Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

A midfielder isn't a necessity at Stamford Bridge, with Conor Gallagher returning from a successful loan at Crystal Palace, but Boehly is keen to show the Blues faithful that he means business.

There is also the small matter of replacing Romelu Lukaku.

Now, Kai Havertz could be given the keys to the centre-forward position, which he would likely occupy in a false nine role.

Or, Chelsea go all out for another high-profile striker. Robert Lewandowski's name comes to mind.

It remains to be seen how much Chelsea will spend, but one thing that is for sure is that it will easily surpass the €200m mark.
