The biggest of the lot is a repeat of last season’s final as Liverpool face Real Madrid in what is the most fascinating tie of this draw.

Paris Saint-Germain will face Bayern Munich in the last 16 as the French side’s poor luck in Champions League draws continue, however, they will feel more confident here.

Fans react to Champions League draw

Liverpool fans got the toughest possible opponent and one wanted the draw re-done, like it was last year, in order to get a second chance at it.

This will be the fourth time Liverpool take on Real Madrid in six seasons, and there were calls for a European Super League as a result.

Milan drew Tottenham and that caught the attention of Arsenal fans, who felt Olivier Giroud could make the difference against his former club’s rivals.

As is normal, some comments were passed about Manchester City’s rather favourable draw, as they got a clash against RB Leipzig.

PSG drew Bayern Munich in another mouth-watering tie and there could be one big difference maker: Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting, who could alter the tie for the German club.

There was also something about their lack of luck in draws: in the last three seasons, their Round of 16 opponents have won a combined 25 European Cup honours.

Elsewhere in the Round of 16, Eintracht Frankfurt face Napoli, Club Brugge play Benfica, Borussia Dortmund play Chelsea while Inter take on Porto.
