Four Atalanta stars Europe’s biggest clubs want to sign
On Wednesday, Atalanta will attempt to achieve what every other team has failed to do this season; to beat Bayer Leverkusen.
Leverkusen are on course for a historic unbeaten treble and will play Atalanta in the final of the Europa League in Dublin.
Atalanta come into the match having already lost a final - the Coppa Italia - to Juventus last Wednesday.

If they are to win their first major trophy since 1963, Atalanta will have to rely on the plethora of talent who are admired by many of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Here are four players who Europe’s biggest clubs want to sign.
Teun Koopmeiners
Teun Koopmeiners has been arguably the best midfielder in Serie A this season after Inter’s Hakan Calhanoglou.
The Dutchman has scored 15 goals and delivered seven assists in all competitions.
Capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, deep-lying midfielder or as a mezzala, Koopmeiners possesses a beautiful left foot.
Koopmeiners has publicly stated he desires to leave this summer, but he will not come cheap at over €50 million.
Juventus have made him their top target to strengthen their midfield and are considered the favourites to sign him.
However, there is also interest from Liverpool and other Premier League clubs.

Ederson
Ederson has exploded in 2023-24 as one of the best central midfielders in Serie A after an underwhelming first season at the club last term.
The Brazilian is an all-action midfielder with indefatigable stamina and intensity. He never stops running and covers every blade of grass, winning numerous tackles and duels.
But Ederson can also play with the ball, too, and he is excellent at making runs into the box - scoring seven goals this season.
The 24-year-old is liked by most of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, including Man Utd, Arsenal, Newcastle, Tottenham and Liverpool. Juventus are also fans.
However, if Koopmeiners leaves as expected then Ederson will not be sold as well this summer.
Giorgio Scalvini
For a few years now, Giorgio Scalvini has been tipped as Italy’s next great young defender.
Still only 20, Scalvini is already very experienced and has made over 100 appearances for club and country.
Standing at 6ft 4in, the giant centre back is excellent in the air, reads the game well and wins many balls high up the pitch with interceptions.
He lacks a bit of pace but that hasn’t stopped the Premier League’s top clubs from considering moves for him.
Gianluca Scamacca
Gianluca Scamacca has exploded in the last two months at Atalanta after a somewhat slow first half to the season.
Since March, only Cole Palmer and Harry Kane have scored more goals than Scamacca in Europe’s five major leagues.
Standing at 6ft 5in, Scamacca boasts a brilliant blend of physical and technical qualities. He is a match-winner, capable of scoring and making goals out of nothing.
Although his experience at West Ham didn’t work out, the feeling is Scamacca has now matured at 25 and is ready for the big time again.
Man Utd have been linked as they search for a number nine, although Scamacca may choose to stay at Atalanta for at least another season.
