Scout that helped convince Kylian Mbappe to join PSG leaves club
PSG have announced the departure of Luis Ferrer, the club’s Supervisor of Recruitment and one of the key men in bringing Kylian Mbappe to the club.
The 45-year-old scout played a pivotal role in the Ligue 1 club’s pursuit and ultimate capture of the Monaco forward, despite the best efforts of Real Madrid at the time.
Ferrer joined PSG in 2009 and was considered the right-hand man of former sporting director Antero Henrique, but has played a reduced role at the club since the arrival of Leonardo.

“During his eleven years at the club, Luis helped build the professional team we know today,” said the Parisian club in a statement on their website.
“We thank him for his work and wish him good luck in his future endeavors.”
The former Nice and Saint-Etienne player’s departure from PSG comes at an interesting time, as the club begins to attempt to tie Mbappe down to a long-term deal.
The French forward’s current contract is due to expire in 2022, meaning he could leave the club for a reduced fee at the end of the season if it isn’t extended.
And while PSG have suggested that they have every confidence in Mbappe staying, Ferrer’s departure from the Ligue 1 side may make things more difficult as yet another one of the player’s allies leaves the club.
This will undoubtedly come as good news to Madrid, who will surely look to rekindle their interest in the French striker in the summer.
The Spanish giants decided to tighten their belt in the summer transfer window, with every intention of bringing in a global super star to freshen up Zinedine Zidane’s ageing and out-of-form side.
Mbappe has been widely reported as the perfect solution to all of Madrid’s problems, alongside Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
And if Ferrer’s departure from the French club can help push Mbappe away from signing a new deal with PSG, it may allow Madrid to sign the French striker for a signficantly smaller amount of money when they place their bid next summer.
