Memphis Depay hints at summer move to Barcelona
Lyon forward Memphis Depay has hinted at a summer move to Barcelona, rather than an immediate transfer in the January transfer window.
The former Manchester United star has been linked with a move to Spain for some time now, with some reports suggesting Barcelona could try and sign the forward in January.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Depay would be available at a cut-down price throughout the January window.
However, the player has now suggested that an agreement may already be in place and that Lyon fans will be able to continue watching him in Ligue 1 for the remainder of the season.

“I’m focused. I don’t want to make a statement yet because I feel good here,” said the forward after Lyon’s 3-2 victory over Lens in the French top flight.
“The president and I know what has happened in the last four seasons. Let’s continue and let’s enjoy my presence for now, and maybe until the end of the season.”
Depay scored two of Lyon’s goals in their hard-fought victory but was taken off a few minutes before time by head coach Rudi Garcia.
Amongst the questions about his future, Depay still took time to joke around by suggesting he may have to make a move in the near future if his coach kept stopping him from scoring a hat-trick in league matches.
“If the coach keeps taking me out when I score two goals, I could think about leaving,” joked the forward.
“I’ve said before, I’m happy here. We have a great team and I really like the president. We’ll see what happens.”
Depay has been in tremendous form for Lyon this season, bagging 10 goals and a further four assists in just 18 league matches.
As such, the Dutch international has been a pivotal part of Lyon’s forward line and a key reason behind the club currently sitting top of Ligue 1 with a three-point lead over PSG.
