‘Staying at Juve a bigger challenge for Ronaldo than PSG move’
Cristiano Ronaldo has been told that remaining at Juventus will be a bigger challenge for him than moving to Paris Saint-Germain.
Ronaldo has been linked with a possible summer move to the Ligue 1 side due to Juve’s tricky financial state. PSG, meanwhile, may struggle to retain Kylian Mbappe amid suggestions that he is eager to leave the club, with the Portuguese touted as a possible replacement.
But the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been told that if he really wants another challenge, he should stay put in Turin, where Juventus are set to enter a new cycle.
“Juventus have a new coach, Massimiliano Allegri” Andre Villas-Boas, the former Chelsea, Tottenham and Marseille boss told Record. “In the past, he’s brought success to Juve.
“So it would be a new challenge for Cristiano Ronaldo. I would counsel him to stay.
“It would be a bigger challenge than going to PSG, for example.”
Mbappe told to move to Real Madrid
Meanwhile, Villas-Boas says that Mbappe should seriously consider the potential of a move to Real Madrid.
The France striker is out of contract in 2022 and is reportedly unimpressed with the leadership of Leonardo at the Ligue 1 side. The door, therefore, is open for a move to the Bernabeu, although a more pressing issue is how cash-strapped Real Madrid might be able to afford him.
Nevertheless, Villas-Boas has suggested that Mbappe moving to the Spanish capital will be inevitable.
“It would be better for him [to leave PSG],” Villas-Boas said. “Where would he go? Real Madrid, sooner or later.
“Ronaldo also went to Real Madrid when he was a star and he became better still. I think that’s what will happen with Mbappe.”
Ronaldo and Mbappe met each other in Euro 2020 action on Wednesday, with the clash between the Real Madrid legend and signing target ending in a 2-2 draw between Portugal and France.
