Sergio Ramos' Paris Saint-Germain nightmare could come to an end this summer, with LA Galaxy reportedly preparing an offer to bring the Spaniard to Major League Soccer.

During the summer of 2021, PSG embarked on one of the most impressive transfer windows in history, signing Lionel Messi, Georginio Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi and of course Ramos.

Danilo Pereira's move from Porto was made permanent, while left-back Nuno Mendes also arrived on loan from Sporting CP.

Messi naturally stole most of the headlines, but there was plenty of fanfare for Ramos, too, as PSG were bringing in one of the most successful defenders of the last 15 years in terms of accumulated trophies.

Unfortunately for PSG, and for the Spaniard, the move has been a complete disaster.

Constant injury issues have meant that Ramos has made just five appearances in all competitions for PSG, earning just 283 minutes of playing time.

For a player on a reported salary of €12m per season in France, he has been a costly addition to the squad with zero to show for it.

Having signed in July, he will have earned a total of €8m from PSG by the time the Champions League last-16 second leg match against Real Madrid rolls around. At that point, Ramos will miss his 31st match this season because of injury.

Meanwhile, he will have cost around €1.6m per appearance, one of which ended prematurely as he was sent off.

LA Galaxy an option for Ramos

Ramos is under contract at PSG until the summer of 2023 so there is still for him to find his fitness and form before the transfer can be written off as a complete failure.

However, PSG would undoubtedly jump at the chance to offload the player this summer should a suitor come calling.

And, Ramos might be let out of his contract at PSG in order to depart.

According to FootMercato, LA Galaxy are interested in signing the player at the conclusion of the current season in Europe.

The 2022 MLS season has already started, however, so Ramos would be moving to the United States in the middle of a campaign.

LA Galaxy have become famed in recent years for bringing superstar names to the club, such as David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
