In a Ligue 1 fixture against Bordeaux, which Paris Saint-Germain eventually won 3-0, the South American duo were the victims of loud boos, jeers and verbal abuse from the PSG fans.

The treatment from the supporters was due to PSG's capitulation in the Champions League against Real Madrid, as the French giants were eliminated at the last-16 stage thanks to a dramatic hat-trick from Karim Benzema.

One of the few players not to receive a negative response from the PSG fans was Kylian Mbappe, who scored the club's only goal in the 3-1 loss versus Madrid a week ago.

However, the World Cup winner, according to L'Equipe, was upset at the treatment his team-mates receives as it brought up memories from a similar situation earlier in the involving himself.

Mbappe was the subject of a massive transfer bid from Real Madrid in the summer, with Los Blancos bidding €200 million on deadline day, and it was widely reported that the player was disappointed when the deal failed to materalise.

After the window closed, he was booed by the PSG fans who were upset at the player for his desire to leave.

"Mbappé was affected and disappointed by the treatment his teammates received on Sunday, including Neymar who, in addition to the whistles, was insulted just like his family," L'Equipe reports.

"The team had the opportunity to show their commitment to the cause. It's a notion something forgotten by the fans, so disappointed since the defeat at the Santiago-Bernabeu."

Mbappe's future

It seems almost inevitable that Mbappe will join Real Madrid this summer.

According to Marca, Mbappe will officially sign his Bosman contract with Real Madrid by the end of March at the latest.

Marca claims that Mbappe will sign a six-year contract worth €25 million per year net.

This means he will receive a salary of €150m net during his time at the club.

Mbappe will also be paid a signing-on bonus of €60-80m in order to join Real Madrid.

Thus, in total he will make between €210-230m from this ‘free’ transfer move.

Mbappe signed for PSG from Monaco in a €180m deal in 2017, joining the same summer as Neymar, who transferred for a world record €222m.

He has won three Ligue 1 titles during his time at the club, as well as the World Cup for the France national team.
