Hojlund or Kane? Romano reveals the TRUTH behind Man Utd’s striker hunt
Manchester United continue to be linked with both Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund and Tottenham’s Harry Kane, but according to Fabrizio Romano, Erik ten Hag’s side have a very clear preference which player they would prefer to sign.
The Red Devils are still in the market for a centre forward to act as a full-time replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who departed the club late in 2022 after a fallout with Ten Hag.
They have been linked with a string of alternatives this summer, including Hojlund and Kane, who have been the most prominent players on their transfer list. Others have been associated with Man Utd, including Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, but the most enduring links are to the player dubbed the ‘next Erling Haaland’ and England’s record marksman.
Man Utd Transfer News Today: Mbappe BID revealed, Hojlund HINT and Romano shares Diallo BOOST
Although United are struggling to raise funds to secure a transfer because of the stalled takeover and have already spent their budget on Mason Mount, who arrived from Chelsea, and Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, they continue to need a striker.
According to Romano, it is the 20-year-old Hojlund they are most intently chasing.
Taking to Twitter, the football transfer news expert stated: “Manchester United remain focused on Rasmus Hojlund as new striker at this stage — despite recent stories around Harry Kane.
“Opening bid of Hojlund coming soon after personal terms are agreed.”

PSG threaten hijack
Manchester United face missing out on Hojlund if they do not act quickly because reports from France indicate that PSG are sounding the striker out as a potential replacement to Kylian Mbappe, who could be sold by the Ligue 1 champions this summer.
With Man Utd lacking the financial muscle to secure a deal, they will have to act quickly to secure the services of the Denmark star, who they have been linked with for several months.
