Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique has criticised Kylian Mbappe for his celebration after scoring the winner against Stade Brestois on Sunday.

PSG went 2-0 up in the first-half, courtesy of a wonderstrike from Warren Zaire-Emery and a trademark Mbappe goal, before Brest pulled it back to 2-2 with goals either side of half-time.

It looked like PSG had squandered a golden opportunity to close the gap at the top of Ligue 1, before Mbappe scored an 89th minute winner to seal all three points for the Parisians.

The Frenchman saw a late penalty saved by Brest goalkeeper Marco Bizot, but he was on hand to tap the rebound home and secure a 3-2 win for PSG.

After netting the late winner, Mbappe shushed the home fans by putting his finger over his mouth, an action that did not resonate well with Enrique.

The PSG boss told reporters after the match: “I don’t like that kind of thing, it’s bad energy. It's better to try to enjoy the moment. You have to try to give positive energy. I don’t know what exactly happened.”

Mbappe himself also commented on his celebration in response to being criticised by a journalist on Twitter.

The France international posted on the social media website: “Well of course I should have sung with them when they insulted my team-mate. Some have really never set foot on a football field regardless of the level.”

Mbappe’s two goals against Brest were his 11th and 12th of the campaign, with 10 in Ligue 1 and two in the Champions League group stages.

The Frenchman remains under contract at the Parc des Princes until 2024 and Real Madrid continue to be linked with a possible free transfer move for Mbappe next summer.

PSG face Montpellier on Friday before travelling to San Siro to play Milan in the Champions League.
