Ex-PSG boss' shocking alleged racist abuse revealed by players
French media has revealed details from the investigation into Christophe Galtier's alleged racist abuse of his OGC Nice players.
The French manager is currently in charge of Qatari side Al-Duhail after being sacked by PSG in the summer. Already in the spring, French police had launched an investigation into reports of "moral harassment and ethnic, racial or religious discrimination" aimed at OGC Nice players by Galtier during his time at the club.
The 57-year-old was in charge of the INEOS-owned side for a year prior to taking the reins at PSG in 2022 and he is alleged to have racially abused several of his players. Galtier denies any wrongdoing and has repeatedly asserted that he has never discriminated against any of his players.
However, 10 days before the manager's hearing, L'Equipe has revealed the shocking extent to which Galtier is accused of having maltreated his Nice players.
Player allegations
One of the players who felt the brunt of Galtier's alleged discrimination was Jean-Clair Todibo, Nice's star defender. The French international, currently being heavily linked with a Premier League move, told police that his boss pressured him into breaking his Ramadan fast.
Moreover, the former Barcelona man was informed by other people at the club that Galtier had called him a “Salafite” and a “terrorist“ behind his back. Ex-Nice player Hassane Kamara has corroborated this information and added that the coach hurled terms like "scum" at him and deprived him of playing time.
Hicham Bouadoui, Teddy Boulhendi and Pablo Rosario also confirmed that Galtier told them to break their fast, claiming that it negatively impacted their performance. Finally, reserve team boss Didier Digard threatened to resign after he was told that Galtier had said it "wasn't normal" for him, a Muslim, to be in charge of the young players at the club as he could "indoctrinate" them.
