Kylian Mbappe officially became a Real Madrid player on 1 July, but the France international forward continues to haunt his old club PSG.

Mbappe’s time at Parc des Princes finished in a fiery manner, with the 25-year-old left in dispute with the Ligue 1 champions over unpaid bonus payments totalling €100 million. It is a battle that is set to end in court.

In the meantime, Mbappe’s family continues to trouble the Parc des Princes side, who had hoped to land creative attacker Rayan Cherki from Lyon in a deal worth around €15 million.

L’Equipe reports, however, that Cherki, who was previously linked with Manchester United, is set to snub PSG and move to Borussia Dortmund.

“Nothing has been signed but the deal is no longer in doubt… Rayan Cherki will play for Borussia Dortmund next season,” the paper reports.

“It’s an understatement to say that PSG did not appreciate the U-turn, which it attributes to the player’s entourage.”

What has this got to do with Mbappe? His mother, Fayza Lamari, looks after the interests of Cherki.

Logically, it stands to reason that she would not wish another client to move to a club that her son is ready to enter a legal battle with, particularly when there is another good option on the table.

According to the report, though, Dortmund’s ability to develop and improve attacking players is the main motivation for the change of plan. Ousmane Dembele, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho are cited as examples of players Cherki can take inspiration from at BVB.

Equally, another factor in Cherki’s decision to snub PSG to move to Dortmund is the Bundesliga side’s decision to give him the No.10 shirt.

Fayza Lamari, meanwhile, is also the representative of Kylian's brother, Ethan Mbappe, who has departed PSG on a free transfer.

Mbappe’s Real Madrid presentation

Details of Mbappe’s presentation at Real Madrid, meanwhile, are beginning to emerge, with AS reporting that it will take place under a closed roof in the Bernabeu.

The date, however, will depend on when France are eliminated from Euro 2024.

Mbappe’s image, though, has started to appear on Real Madrid’s official website, although his shirt will not be sold by the club until he is presented to the fans.
