Jack Wylie has lit up the Rangers youth academy as well as impressing with Scotland's under-16s, attracting the interest of Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal, but what else is there to know?

Rangers are determined to tie Wylie down to a professional contract when he turns 16 on 1 January having seen academy stars like Billy Gilmour and Rory Wilson leave for Chelsea and Aston Villa in recent seasons, but their attempts could prove futile.

Manchester United and Arsenal have both sent scouts to watch the young full-back, and his future could lie south of the border sooner rather than later. Football Transfers takes a closer look.

What position does Wylie play in?

Wylie has a ball-playing ability borne of the midfield position he occupied in his younger days, but he has been moulded into a right-back by the Rangers academy, occasionally deputising at centre-back.

How good is Wylie?

Wylie is already a member of Scotland's under-16 set-up and featured in their friendly with Denmark last month, with scouts from United and Arsenal watching on. A ball-playing right-back with positional sense beyond his years, the future looks very bright indeed.

What clubs are interested in Wylie?

As well as Man Utd and Arsenal, Leeds have also watched Wylie in action. Liverpool, whilst keeping tabs, have already signed a young Scottish right-back in Aberdeen's Calvin Ramsay.

When does Wylie's contract expire?

Wylie can't yet sign a pro contract and, unfortunately for Rangers, turns 16 on 1 January, the day the winter transfer window opens.

How old is Wylie?

Born on New Year's Day of 2007, Wylie is still 15 at the time of writing.

He shares a birthdate with Rivelino, Lilian Thuram, and his Rangers teammate Steven Davis.
