Rangers fully committed to permanent Lammers transfer
Sam Lammers' adventure at Rangers seems to have finally come to an end after his loan period at FC Utrecht, with the Gers expected to ship out the forward on a permanent basis this summer.
Rangers are eager to sell the 26-year-old to the Eredivisie side on a permanent basis after he flopped in the Scottish Premiership, and they are so desperate to offload the player they are even prepared to take a big loss on the fee they paid Atalanta last summer.
The Gers paid €3.5 million to the Serie A side for Lammers last summer, with the Dutchman signing a deal until the middle of 2027.

However, the ex-PSV player failed to impress in Scotland. In 31 games he only scored twice and was also good for 2 assists. Due to the arrival of Fabio Silva in January on loan from Wolves, Lammers hardly had any prospect of playing time and he opted for loan to Utrecht.
Lammers has been on a roll at De Galgenwaard in 2024. The former Netherlands youth international has scored seven goals and claimed three assists in 13 matches.
Utrecht want Lammers deal
Head coach Ron Jans had already indicated at an earlier stage that he would like to see Lammers stay at Utrecht and this wish may be fulfilled. Rangers are prepared to let the two-legged attack leader go for around €2m.
“I think Rangers will try to do a deal with Utrecht,” Rangers legend Barry Ferguson told Go Radio. “It’s one of those transfers that never worked out. He’s gone back to the Dutch league and is performing well.
“Rangers paid, what, £3 million? I think they’ll try and recoup at least half of that.
“And I think it would be a good deal for both Sam Lammers and Rangers.”
The news from Scotland is a bad omen for FC Twente, which had listed Lammers' name as a summer reinforcement for its attack after the winter transfer market closed.
Twente instead strengthened their ranks with Myron Boadu, who will return to Monaco after this season. In addition to Lammers, Twente also has former Manchester United forward Wout Weghorst in mind as a summer signing.
