Arsenal are one of a number of sides looking to sign Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo in the January transfer window.

Melo was part of a controversial transfer two summers ago which saw Miralem Pjanic leave Juventus for Barcelona, with the Brazilian going in the other direction in a part-exchange deal.

It is one of a number of transfers involving Juventus that is currently under investigation for its legality.

On the pitch, Melo has struggled to make an impact in Turin, with fitness and form issues hampering his career so far in Serie A.

Since the transfer from Barcelona, he has accumulated just 14 Serie A starts and 21 in all competitions.

A knee injury had kept him out of the side in 2021/22 but he hasn't impressed on his return, either, with Juve head coach Massimiliano Allegri reportedly keen to get rid of the midfielder.

Juventus as a club want him gone too as they attempt to trim his €5.5 million salary off of their wage budget.

Who wants to sign Arthur?

According to Calciomercato; Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla are the three teams interested in a transfer currently.

Mikel Arteta is keen to add midfield reinforcements to his squad, while PSG and Juventus would allegedly be interested in a player swap situation.

The Bianconeri have been linked with Leandro Paredes and Mauro Icardi so Arthur could be used in any deal for one or two of those PSG players.

Sevilla would like to take Arthur back to Spain, but only on a loan deal.
