Patrick Cutrone leaves Wolves again for Valencia
Valencia have signed Italian striker Patrick Cutrone on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.
Cutrone only arrived at Wolves from AC Milan in the summer of 2019 but he struggled badly in the Premier League and scored just three goals in 24 games.
He was shipped out on an 18-month loan deal to Fiorentina in January 2020 but again failed to impress.
After scoring only four times in 19 appearances last term, he didn’t find the net at all this time around for the Serie A side.
This led to Fiorentina cutting short his loan spell six months early but Wolves decided against retaining him and have sent him on loan again to La Liga strugglers Valencia.
A Wolves statement on Sunday read: “Striker Patrick Cutrone has joined Spanish side Valencia on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign.
“The Italian returned to Wolves earlier this month, having struggled for opportunities at ACF Fiorentina, where he’d spent the previous year on loan.
“While back in the West Midlands, Cutrone featured four times for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side – twice in the Premier League and twice in the Emirates FA Cup.
“However, 23-year-old now heads to Spain to link up with Valencia, who currently sit in 13th place in the La Liga table.”
Cutrone has been capped once by the Italy national team back in 2018.
Later on Sunday, Valencia also confirmed the signing of a second player on loan in Sporting Lisbon defender Ferro.
