Pogba agent refuses to rule out Serie A switch for Man Utd ace
Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has refused to rule out a possible Serie A return for the Manchester United star.
Pogba’s contract is up in 2022 and in December it was suggested by Raiola that he was eager to leave the club.
His form on the field, however, has improved and with it so too have his regular prospects of staying with the club.
Nevertheless, there remains uncertainty over his future – and Raiola is not giving anything away.
“Paul Pogba must also be left alone. When I speak people get nervous, he doesn’t sleep at night, so I don’t speak anymore,” he told Tuttomercatoweb when asked about the prospect of returning to Serie A, where he has been linked to Juventus.
“I will do what I have to do – not in front of you, but in the shadows, as I always have.”
What did Raiola say about Pogba?
Man Utd were previously furious at Raiola for his comments on Pogba late in 2020.
Speaking to Tuttosport, he said: “I can say that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United. Paul is unhappy with Man United as he is no longer able to express himself in the way that he would like and as he is expected to. Paul needs a new team, a change of air.”
There was frustration in the Man Utd camp that Pogba did not immediately distance himself from these quote, but ultimately he refuted them.
“I’m on contract, I’m here, I’m enjoying myself,” the 28-year-old said in January.
“Everybody knows that I have one year left, I’m going to speak with the club, see what’s going on.
“For now, my goal, my objective is to win something, all I am thinking about is winning, to bring my energy, give my best to help the team.”
Pogba will hope to be involved for Man Utd on Sunday, when they travel to West Brom in Premier League action.
