Juventus and Tottenham target Mikkel Damsgaard likely to stay at Sampdoria
The agent of Sampdoria attacking midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard insists his client is happy with the Serie A club for the moment, apparently playing down speculation of a move away from the club this summer.
Damsgaard hasn’t even been with Sampdoria for a full season yet, having joined from Nordsaelland in July of 2020 for a reported €6.7 million fee.
However, he has already made enough of an impression that bigger clubs around Italy and abroad have started keeping an eye on his progress.
When asked recently about his client potentially leaving Sampdoria, Jens Orgaard Pedersen told Calciomercato:
“Do Inter and Juventus like him? I prefer not to comment on the market rumours.
“At the moment I can only say Mikkel is happy at Sampdoria and is totally focused on his adventure in Genoa.”
Who is interested in Damsgaard?
FootballTransfers previously detailed how both Tottenham and Juventus were interested in signing Damsgaard in the summer, with both sides impressed with his development since moving to a top league in Serie A.
Over the past couple of years, Juventus have been hoovering up younger talent from around Europe, particularly from Serie A, as they have recently signed Dejan Kulusevski from Atalanta and Federico Chiesa from Fiorentina.
The Bianconeri are keen to add Damsgaard to their roster of young stars at the Allianz Stadium.
Spurs, meanwhile, had an interest in the 20-year-old when he was still in Denmark and still retain an eye on his progress.
The report from Calciomercato also lists West Ham and Leeds as two admirers.
