Zlatan Ibrahimovic signs new one-year deal with Milan
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has agreed a one-year contract extension worth around €7 million with AC Milan that will take him past the age of 40.
Ibrahimovic’s future has been a source of speculation for several weeks, although it always looked likely that the legendary Swede would extend his deal with the club.

Having returned to Milan in the winter of 2020, he has been a catalyst for a massive improvement in their fortunes that has seen them climb to second in the Serie A standings. Indeed, he was so successful, he postponed a plan to retire last summer.
Indeed, the 2020/21 campaign has been a fine one for Ibrahimovic, who has scored 17 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions, including 15 in just 16 Serie A matches.
Ibrahimovic’s career
Zlatan Ibrahimovic made his professional debut for Malmo in 1999, before several of his present Milan team-mates – including Italy international midfielder Sandro Tonali, were even born.
From there, he enjoyed prodigious success in a globe-trotting career that has seen him win titles with Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and LA Galaxy.
His career at the top level was thought to be over when he suffered a serious knee injury while playing with Man Utd in the Europa League, but he has shown emphatically that is not the case.
Ibrahimovic has, meanwhile, only ever returned to Milan, where he first moved on a loan basis in the 2010/11 season after his failed spell at Barcelona. The deal was made permanent the following summer.
In total, he has scored 84 goals in 129 matches across his spells with Milan.
He has also recently come out of international retirement and is due to play for Sweden at Euro 2020 this summer.
