Ronaldo’s mother to try and convince Juventus star to re-join Sporting
Cristiano Ronaldo will one day return to Sporting CP – at least if his mother has anything to do with it.
Ronaldo, who was born on the island of Madeira, made his professional breakthrough at Sporting, where he scored five goals in 31 outings.

His time there laid the foundation for a stories career that has taken him to Manchester United, Real Madrid and now Juventus, and has seen him win five Champions League crowns, as many Ballons d’Or and the 2016 European Championship.
Furthermore, Ronaldo has written himself into legend at each of his three clubs, becoming Real Madrid’s record goal scorer and the quickest player in Juve’s colours to net 100 goals.
Nevertheless, Dolores Aveiro wants to see him back playing football in Portugal before his career is out.
“I will talk to him and try to convince him to return next year,” she told TVI 24. “To the Alvalade Stadium and to wear the colours of Sporting.”
Will Cristiano Ronaldo leave Juventus?
Ronaldo’s future at Juventus appears to be hanging by a thread. Despite his exploits for the Turin side, Juve are in grave danger of missing out on the Champions League next season as they lie fifth in Serie A with two matches remaining – one of which is against champions Inter.
Additionally, Ronaldo’s wage is a heavy burden upon Juventus, who are suffering financial difficulties and may be forced to offload him as a consequence.
Manchester United have been linked with potentially trying to lure him back to Old Trafford, while Paris Saint-Germain ace Neymar dropped something of a hint that he would like to see the Ligue 1 giants make a move for the Portuguese.
Sporting, meanwhile, would be a romantic choice. While Ronaldo may be willing to accept a dramatic pay cut to join the club that launched his career, he may well feel he still has more to offer at one of Europe’s major clubs as his form remains imperious, despite being 36.
