Ronaldo tipped to leave Juventus and join Mourinho at Roma by Italy legend
Cristiano Ronaldo has been tipped to leave Juventus and join Jose Mourinho at Roma by former Italy striker Christian Vieri.
The Portuguese superstar has been one of Juve’s standout players in a disappointing campaign, scoring 29 goals in 32 starts in Serie A, as the Bianconeri surrendered the Scudetto after a near-decade long period of dominance.

In the end, Juventus were fortunate to even qualify for the Champions League as they had to rely on Napoli dropping points on the last day of the season to leapfrog them into fourth.
Ronaldo may have been banging in the goals domestically but in the Champions League he came under heavy criticism after Juve were eliminated at the last 16 stage by Porto. For the winning goal of the Portuguese side, a free-kick, he could be seen turning his back in the wall.
With the club currently in a bad state financially, there has been speculation that Ronaldo could be moved on this summer, especially considering he makes more money than most of the rest of the squad combined.
A return to Real Madrid or Manchester United has been mentioned, but Vieri thinks he could hook up with former Madrid coach Mourinho at the Stadio Olimpico.
“Mourinho wants to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Roma,” Vieri said on Bobo TV.
Ronaldo to Roma?
However, these suggestions were shot down by Vieri’s guest Antonio Cassano.
“Ronaldo to Roma? That’s nonsense,” the former Real Madrid and Roma forward responded.
“Mourinho didn’t get on well with Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid. How can you think he’s going to go to Roma?
“I don’t know if it’s because they have the same agent, Jorge Mendes, or a Portuguese sporting director, but how can you think Cristiano’s going to Roma?”
Mourinho was recently appointed Roma head coach after being sacked by Tottenham.
He previously worked in Serie A to enormous success with Inter, helping he Nerazzurri to a treble in 2010.
At Juventus, meanwhile, they have recently brought back Massimilano Allegri as head coach after the unsuccessful tenure of Andrea Pirlo.
