Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz moves back to Milan on loan
Milan have announced that they have completed the signing of Brahim Diaz on loan from Real Madrid.
The 21-year-old former Manchester City youngster spent the 2020-21 season at San Siro and will return until June 2023.
It is reported that the loan fee for Diaz is €3 million. Meanwhile, there is a €22m option in the deal for the Rossoneri to keep the Spain international winger on a permanent basis.
Diaz played 39 times for Milan last term, scoring seven goals and laying on a further four, a credible record given that he was frequently a substitute.
A statement from Milan reads: "AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Brahim Abdelkader Díaz from Real Madrid CF on a temporary basis for two years. The contract ties the football player to the Rossoneri Club until 30 June 2023.
"Brahim, after scoring 7 goals in 39 appearances with AC Milan last season, will continue to be a Rossoneri player, wearing the number 10 jersey."
Milan's summer transformation continues
Brahim Diaz's return to San Siro means that he is the sixth player to sign on at the club - and the third player to return after a loan.
Fikayo Tomori is their priciest summer arrival after a fine six-month loan spell from Chelsea. He set Milan back €30m. Additionally, classy young midfielder Sandro Tonali has joined up on a permanent basis from Brescia, with the 21-year-old costing €7m.
Milan have otherwise looked to France for their recruitment. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan has joined from Ligue 1 champions Lille for around €13m, having kept more cleansheets than any other goalkeeper in Europe's Big 5 leagues last season, while left-back Fode Ballo-Toure has signed from Monaco.
Finally, striker Olivier Giroud has arrived on a free transfer from Chelsea.
With a deal for Brahim Diaz in place, Milan's squad for next season continues to take shape nicely.
