Leao has attracted interest from English clubs, namely Chelsea, who have been huge admirers of his talents over the last few months having seen his growth over the course of the year.

Now, the Blues, along with Manchester City, are monitoring the situation once again and feel they could take advantage of Leao’s contract at Milan.

Leao still of interest

The Portuguese star has a deal that runs until 2024 at the San Siro and the Italian champions have been looking to extend that, but have had complications in that.

The problems with the extension are linked back to his exit from former club Sporting, who are still owed €19 million by Leao following his acrimonious exit from the club.

Leao also reportedly wants a wage increase that would see him get an annual rise of €2 million, something which is proving to be complicated for the club.

Milan want to get an extension sorted quickly, as he will enter the final year of his contract in the summer and the club don’t want to lose him on the cheap.

The reigning champions wish to get €80 to €100 million for Leao, something which may be difficult if the player is in the final year of his deal.

With Chelsea still keen and Manchester City monitoring the situation, the interest in Leao is high and there will be no shortage of suitors, looking to get the Portuguese winger’s talents over to their respective clubs.
