Following the departure of Odion Ighalo, the Saudi giants are still in the market for a number nine, and given the star names that are heading for the Pro League this summer, they want to make a statement signing.

The Riyadh club were prepared to put €300 million on the table to get Kylian Mbappe off Paris Saint-Germain's books, offering the player a base salary of €200m for just one season. PSG duly accepted the bid, but Mbappe has no intention of heading to the Gulf State at this point in his career.

REVEALED: Real Madrid's Mbappe DEADLINE

Having also been rejected by Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane, Al-Hilal have now shifted their attention to Victor Osimhen, but a deal will prove hard to strike. Napoli's valuation of their star striker has been as fluid as the Nigerian's combination play with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Initial reports put his price at €100m, then €120m and now it appears that Napoli want even more.

Napoli reject Al-Hilal offer

According to L'Equipe, the Italian champions have now rejected a €140m offer from Al-Hilal for Osimhen. Why? Because they believe that they can squeeze in excess of €200m out of the Saudis given that they were prepared to shell out €300m on Mbappe.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Osimhen wants to stay in Europe and he has previously revealed how much he loves playing for Napoli. In light of the interest in the 26-goal man, president Aurelio de Laurentiis is trying to tie him down to a new contract.

Despite optimism at Napoli that Osimhen will commit his future to the club, L'Equipe report that the Italians are braced for new and improved offers from Al-Hilal. Will they match their €200m valuation?
